What happens when the founder goes MIA
I’m about to disappear for 4 days... here’s why I’m not panicking

“Jackson, the business is on fire… where the hell are you?”
That’s every founder’s nightmare text…
And Thursday, I might get it.
Because I’m flying to San Diego with Gabby for 4 full days to hang out with her family…
And I’m leaving my phone turned off.
(not just on DND… but COMPLETELY off)
Most agency owners I know would be sweating buckets right now…
Terrified that everything would start to crumble without them there.
But me personally? I’m not worried at all.
Here's why…
First of all, this entire trip isn't a spontaneous "screw it" decision.
I knew about this trip moooonths ago.
And proper planning prevents piss poor performance every single time, right?
But even if I woke up today and decided to bounce to San Diego TOMORROW, I could tell that to my team and they'd handle it just fine.
All because everyone has their little cheat sheet…
"If this happens, go to this person.”
“If that breaks, here's the fix.”
“If you've exhausted everything on this list, okay fine ONLY THEN you can message Jackson."
That list means the business runs without me.
And in the end that’s the point.
Because if your business collapses when you step away, you don’t actually own a business…
…You own a job.
I'm working my ass off so I can send my future kids to good schools AND be at every sporting event they’re at.
And I couldn’t do that if the business would risk falling apart every time I step away.
So Thursday and Friday, while everyone else is chained to their desks…
I'll be at the games with zero notifications buzzing.
The business will run without me there…
And I'll be able to come back recharged instead of burned out.
That's what proper delegation looks like.
Now if you don’t mind, let me ask you a question since I’m curious:
What's stopping you from taking 4 days completely off right now?
Just hit reply to this email and tell me.
Talk soon,
Jackson
