Project managers are (d)ucking useless

I'm losing a client because of one right now

Project managers are f*cking useless.

They get in the way of everything.

Hour-long daily check-ins that accomplish nothing…

Broken telephone between us and decision makers…

She doesn't understand media buying but insists on "managing" it anyway.

We're adults, we don't need no dang hall monitors watching our every move.

PMs treat your team like infants, while spamming corporate slang like "let's circle back" and "I’m just going to helicopter in"

What the f*ck does that even mean?

They don't understand the work they're managing.

Can't run ads, design emails, or manage photo shoots.

But they're supposed to "manage" all of it.

How do you manage something when you don't know the basics? You can't.

At pinkberg, we don't have project managers.

Each media buyer and strategist owns their accounts.

They're responsible for results, no middleman in the way.

We have an operations specialist instead, the company glue.

They manage the people, and make sure everyone has what they need without micromanaging.

When you hire a PM, you're basically saying "I don't trust you to own your work” to your team.

That kills autonomy and ownership.

I was a PM once.

Even trying to stay out of the way, I was still a bottleneck.

Everything had to go through me.

So now, ask yourself…

What does your PM actually produce?

Or are they just getting in the way?

Your team needs clear goals and freedom to execute.

That’s enough ranting for now,
